Then our parents’ dreams come to us as a must, and we start practicing sports, taking drawing or dance lessons, or learning to play an instrument without knowing if we have a natural talent for this or not. Then we live different experiences.

After 14 years in a multinational company learning and growing in several roles, I was ready to make a change.

Was I afraid to make a change? Of course!
Authenticity is a word used by a lot of people mainly working in branding.
Lately, the authenticity of a brand and its communication is sometimes more important to customers than the price and even the product features.
How people choose a brand is quite clear. Is it the same when connecting with people? There is a lot of Personal Branding training that teaches you how to build your personal brand and how to stand out.
It is commonly believed you should not stay more than three years in the same role or more than six years with the same company if you want to grow your career and get new skills, networking, opportunities, bigger salary or a higher position.
Is it a standard though? Does this matter the most?
It’s common knowledge that we learn more from our failures rather than from our successes.
And when we talk about human relationships, we learn more from controversy or when we are challenged.

The day you become a manager, besides not having leadership training or a proper introduction to your new role, you also face a shock when you need to coordinate, inspire and develop a team of people who should completely trust you as their new leader.
It’s not a given that a brilliant specialist becomes a great leader. In the leadership position, it is more about the EQ than the IQ, and that makes a big difference.
